Why use NZ Asbestos Removal instead of Googling it yourself
Doing the research yourself means phoning around, chasing quotes, and comparing apples to pears. We do it in one form.
WorkSafe NZ licensed only
Every removalist on this directory holds a current WorkSafe NZ asbestos removal licence — Class A for friable material, Class B for non-friable. Licence class is shown on every profile and verified before listing.
The 2016 Regulations, in English
The Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016 set the rules. Above 10 m² of non-friable: licensed work. Any friable: Class A only. Notifiable jobs: five working days' notice to WorkSafe before site start.
Air monitoring & clearance
Class A jobs end with independent licensed asbestos assessor (LAA) air monitoring and a written clearance certificate. You keep that certificate with the property file — for re-occupancy, insurance, and on-sale disclosure.
Disposal at licensed facilities
All removed material is double-bagged, labelled, manifest-tracked and disposed of only at councils' licensed asbestos transfer stations. Tip dockets are returned to the property owner with the job paperwork.
