Privacy policy
We collect what we need to get a surveyor to your door and a quote into your inbox, and nothing else. We do not sell your details and we do not pass them to other removers for a fee. This policy is written to the Privacy Act 2020 and the information privacy principles. Last updated 15 September 2026.
Who we are
NZ Asbestos Removal is a trading name of Kauri Ridge Holdings Limited, NZBN 9429050000017, of Level 1, 12 Kōwhai Lane, Grey Lynn, Auckland 1021. We are the agency responsible for the personal information described here. Privacy enquiries: hello@nz-asbestos-removal.co.nz.
What we collect
- When you book a test: your name, email, phone, the property address and suburb, the region, what the material is and where, whether it is damaged, the number of samples, whether the property is tenanted or occupied, the approximate build era and any access notes you give us.
- When you ask for a removal or survey quote: your contact details, the material and approximate area, access and storey information, occupancy, timing, and any laboratory report you send us.
- When you apply as a partner: your business name, contact details, WorkSafe licence number, NZBN, regions, insurance details and rates.
- When you contact us or join a waitlist: your contact details and your message.
- Automatically: basic technical information such as the page you came from and an anonymous analytics session identifier. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run retargeting.
- Payment details are never collected by us.Card payments go through Stripe's own hosted checkout. We receive only the confirmation, the amount and the last four digits.
Why we collect it
To schedule and carry out the service you asked for; to get you a quote; to send you the laboratory report and explain it; to keep the records a business in this trade has to keep; and to answer you when you get in touch. We do not use your information to market unrelated things to you.
Who we share it with
- The partner surveyor for your region: the address, access notes, the material, and your name and phone so they can arrange a time.
- The IANZ-accredited laboratory: the sample and its site reference. The laboratory does not need your contact details.
- The WorkSafe-licensed remover and the independent clearance provider, if you accept a removal quote: what they need to scope, notify, perform and clear the work.
- WorkSafe New Zealand, where the regulations require a notification about licensed removal at your property. That is a legal obligation on the remover.
- Our service providers: Stripe (payments), Notion (our records), Resend (email delivery), Vercel (hosting) and PostHog (analytics).
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass your enquiry to other removers for a fee. If we ever offer to refer you to a licence holder we have no contract with, it will be with an explicit, unticked opt-in and any fee will be disclosed on our disclosure page first.
Where it is stored
Some of our providers store information outside New Zealand: Stripe, Notion, Resend, Vercel and PostHog operate servers in the United States, the European Union and elsewhere. Under principle 12 of the Privacy Act 2020 we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that those providers protect your information with comparable safeguards, through their contractual terms and published privacy commitments. By sending us a form you agree to that transfer.
How long we keep it
Test and removal records are kept for seven years, because tax and building records generally need to be. Laboratory reports and clearance certificates are kept for the same period and can be re-sent to you on request — they are useful when you sell the property. Enquiries and waitlist entries that do not become jobs are deleted after two years. Partner applications are kept while the relationship is live and for two years after.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email us and we will respond within 20 working days, which is the statutory limit. There is no charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Cookies and analytics
We use PostHog to count how pages and forms are used, so we know which pages help and which do not. It stores an anonymous identifier in your browser. We do not run advertising trackers, retargeting pixels or third-party ad cookies. Stripe sets its own cookies on its hosted checkout pages, under its own policy.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to our records is limited to people who need it. We do not store card numbers at any point. No system is perfect; if a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as the Act requires.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be summarised here.
