Asbestos testing and removal by region
We have written pages for Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Each one tells you the truth about that region: whether a surveyor is under subcontract there, whether a WorkSafe-licensed remover is, and what the only sourced cost figure for that city actually says. Nowhere else has a page, because we have nothing true to put on one.

See the Christchurch page →No region is live yet. A region goes live when a competent surveyor is under subcontract there, and shows removal when a WorkSafe-licensed remover is too. Until then every button joins a waitlist, no card is charged, and the region page says so at the top.
We are not a licence holder. NZ Asbestos Removal is not a WorkSafe asbestos licence holder. Removal we arrange is carried out by licensed partners named, with their licence class and number, on each quote.
Why only three regions
Because a region page is only worth having if there is someone behind it. Plenty of asbestos sites publish a page per city with the city name swapped in and a paragraph of invented local colour. We would rather have three honest pages than twenty that pretend.
A fourth region gets a page when there is a contracted surveyor in it and at least one sourced local fact worth writing down. If you are outside these three, join the waitlist anyway: it is how we decide where to go next.
What is the same everywhere
The rules do not change by region. The licensing thresholds, the five days' notice to WorkSafe and the independent clearance apply the same way in Invercargill as in Auckland — the rules page sets them out with their regulation numbers. Our price does not change by region either: $249 for the test wherever the property is, with extra samples at $85.
What does vary is removal cost. The only published New Zealand dataset we could source puts the typical job at $7,000 nationally and $30–150 per m² by area (CheckMyBuilder, Asbestos removal cost, updated June 2026). We do not publish a regional multiplier, because we could not source one.
