For licensed removers and surveyors

We sell asbestos tests at a published price and arrange removal at one fixed quote. We do not hold a WorkSafe licence, so the work is done by people who do. We are contracting surveyors and Class A and Class B licence holders in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch now, and elsewhere as demand appears.

What we are to you

A customer-facing front end that sells a test online, explains the rules properly and produces a pre-qualified job with the material already identified by an IANZ-accredited laboratory. No bidding, no three-quotes race, no lead fee, and no marketplace scoring you.

  • Surveyors: we book the visit and pay you per visit plus per sample. You take the samples, note condition and extent, and the laboratory reports. We handle the customer.
  • Licensed removers:we bring you a job with a laboratory result, an approximate area and a customer who already understands the licence class, the five days' notice and the clearance. You quote a trade rate; we quote the customer one fixed price and hold the contract.
  • Assessors and clearance providers: we engage and pay you separately from the remover, because after licensed removal, a clearance inspection must be carried out by someone independent of the remover: a licensed asbestos assessor for Class A work, and an independent competent person otherwise. For a home, the licensed remover commissioned to do the work must make sure it happens.

We are not a licence holder. NZ Asbestos Removal is not a WorkSafe asbestos licence holder. Removal we arrange is carried out by licensed partners named, with their licence class and number, on each quote.

What we check before we contact you

This is the part most lead-gen sites skip. We check it because customers are told we do, and because a suspended licence on a job we arranged is our problem as much as yours.

  1. Your WorkSafe licence class and number against the asbestos licence holder register, and that the register shows it as Current.
  2. Your NZBN and trading entity.
  3. Public liability cover — a certificate of currency, in writing.
  4. Your clearance arrangement: who does your clearance inspections, and that they are genuinely independent of you.
  5. Your disposal site and that dockets come back with the job.

For surveyors: your competence and qualifications, which IANZ-accredited laboratory you use, your visit rate, your per-sample rate and your realistic turnaround.

The commercials

  • Testing: the customer pays us $249 including GST for a visit and one sample, and $85 per extra sample. You quote us your visit rate and per-sample rate; we pay by bank transfer per visit.
  • Removal: you give us a trade rate per square metre by material and class, plus your setup and disposal costs. We add our margin and quote the customer one fixed price. The deposit funds setup; the balance is paid to you after the clearance certificate is issued and we have checked the disposal dockets.
  • No lead fees, either direction. We do not charge you for work and we do not pay for referrals.

Being straight about the stage we are at: we have not yet signed a surveyor or a licensed remover in any region, so there is no volume to promise you and we are not going to invent one. What we have is a finished product, published prices and a site that explains the rules correctly. If you want to be the first partner in a region, that is the conversation.
